SHIPPING CONTAINEr

SALON

This project is disused shipping containers used to create a co-working office, demonstrating a combination of user research and creative design thinking. The ‘user’ is arguably the most important element that has to be considered when designing a space. The user/ group designed for is mobile hairdressers, nail technicians and beauticians. A space for these independent artists to get creative in a prime location to boost the local economy and bringing different cultural techniques and beliefs into the heart of the quarter. With many high street shops closing being replaced with gambling shops and Poundland’s and small diverse independent shops with there own cultural beliefs struggling to make ends up, due to the growing platform of online shopping, my design hopefully brings people back to the centre and a sense of community. The materials used within the interiors focused on metals and rubber using tyres to represent the personalities of the real-life clients I used.
